The First Latin American Typography Biennial was a regional event, the first one that brought designers, typographers and interested in typography in four Latin American cities: Buenos Aires, Mexico, Sao Paulo and Santiago, simultaneously.
Initially organized by the Argentinean designer Rubén Fontana and later by the Letras Latinas website was the first and massive record of typographic development of the region. In Santiago, the Biennal featured an extensive series of talks typographical development projects Chilean designers, and a series of lectrues from differents experts of national graphic and typographic design.
