About us
The group ‘InformationDesign at UC’, is named after the Departament of Typographic Studies (DET). It is comprised of a team of professors and professionals from the School of Design UC. Its mission is to conduct research and develop solutions for information problems through visual communication.
The main objective of DET’s projects is to define, organize and process data, and transform it into visually appealing, comprehensible and usable information that meets users’ requeriments and needs from users.
The work team at UC Information Design & Typographic Studies applies methodologies and approaches from disciplines such as Design, Social Sciences and Engineering in spaces such as the following:
• Context, information requirements and user practices
• Typeface development and visual/corporate identity
• Wayfinding (navigation systems)
• Graphic norms
• Thematic maps
• Infographic design
• Document design (i.e. instructions, forms and surveys)
